IHCH Meningitis W email

Dear client,
You are receiving this message because according to our records you or one of your family members were born between the years 2001 and 2005.
Since 2015, the amount of Meningitis W cases has been rising in the Netherlands. The risk groups are small children and adolescents between the ages of 14 and 18.
Until recently, the Dutch government (as well as many other countries) only offered vaccinations against Meningitis C, which is what you or your child most likely received around the age of one.
To offer protection against Meningitis W, the consultatiebureau will start inviting children for the administration of the meningitis ACWY vaccine, which also protects against types A and Y.
Since many of IHCH’s patients have a diplomatic status or are here on a temporary basis, they will not be invited for this catch-up programme offered by the Dutch government. So, if you or your child, aged 14 to 18 years, are still living in the Netherlands and are not registered with a Dutch municipality, it is recommended to obtain a Meningitis ACWY vaccination.
Additionally, we would like to inform you that IHCH is also able to administer the Meningitis B vaccine. For reimbursement please enquire with your insurance provider.

Please book an appointment with our vaccination doctor at 070 - 306 5100. (This is also possible online if you have already obtained a login. If you do not have online access, please ask our staff about how to set this up).
