Specialist care at Polikliniek Prins Willem
Our specialists are available to all residents in The Hague and its surrounding areas and work together at the "Polikliniek Prins Willem"
We encourage you to visit our Centre and to make appointments by calling (070) 306 5111. For non-Dutch insured patients no referral letter is required. If you have Dutch Insurance, however, your GP should provide us with a referral letter for reimbursement purposes.
We offer an "open-door" policy at our clinic. This means that you may directly make appointments, without the need to be registered with our General Practitioners, however priority is given to IHCH patients.
Frequently asked questions
Yes, even if you are not registered with a GP at the IHCH! Our registered patients do receive priority though. Please register 'To see policlinic specialists only' on our online registration form.
If you do not have a GP at all in The Netherlands, we will ask you to register with a GP at the IHCH to streamline your medical care.
If you are registered with a GP at our Centre, it is preferable to consult your GP first for medical advise and to reduce your waiting time. In the case of patients with Dutch insurance and some international insurances, it is a must to obtain a referral letter from your GP first. If not, it is quite likely that your insurance company will not reimburse your medical costs.

Rates for specialist services are regulated by the Ministry of Health and may be very different from what you are used to in your home country.
For every diagnosis there is a different DBC code, to which a package price is attached. This price is based on the cost of an average treatment plan for the diagnosis that the specialist has made. Certain diagnoses may require more visits to the specialist, others perhaps only one follow up visit. All of these visits are included in the price.
Approximately four months after your initial visit, the DBC is closed (once your treatment has been completed) and we generate an invoice. If we have a directly billing agreement with your insurance, we send it to them, otherwise we email the invoice directly to you via our secure KPN Zorg Messenger.
Please be aware, that depending on your personal circumstances, you may also be asked to pay us at the time of the consultation.
