PPW billing procedure - Dutch insurance

Referral letter

All persons with Dutch Insurance wishing to visit a specialist will require a referral from their GP first

If you do not have a referral letter, it is likely that your Insurance company will not reimburse the specialist fees

Direct billing agreement

To simplify the billing process for you, we have currently negotiated a directly billing agreement with:

  • ONVZ

This means we will send the invoice directly to your insurance company, once the case for your specialist treatment has been closed.

Other Dutch Insurance companies

For persons with Insurance with all other Dutch Insurance companies (except the above), we will send the bill to you, once the case for your specialist treatment has been closed.  Please settle your bill with us directly, once it has been received.

Eigen risico

Please be aware that Dutch insurance companies impose a mandatory eigen risico or ‘own risk’.   This excess amount is regulated by the Dutch Government and it applies every year to all persons with Dutch Insurance.  Your eigen risico is usually deducted from any reimbursements you may receive from your insurance company.  Specialist consultations form part of your eigen risico.  During 2018, the minimum amount is 385 euros.

No-show / Cancellation fees

We adhere to a strict 24-hour No-show / cancellation policy.  Therefore, please be aware that unless we receive at least 24 hours notice by emailing us, prior to the cancellation of an appointment with one of our medical professionals, you will receive an invoice and be charged a No-show / cancellation fee.  This fee is not usually reimbursed by your insurance company.
